DECESSION MAKING

Directions (1-5) : Study the following information carefully and answer the questions given below: To be admitted to IIFT course a candidate must fulfil the following eligibility criteria: (i) He/she should between 20-25 years of age as on 1 July 2014.

(ii) He / she must have at least 62% marks in graduation.

 (iii) His / her marks in the entrance exam should be at least 60%.

 (iv) He / she must have scored at least 50% in the interview.

(v) He / she should be able to pay ‘55000 per annum as tuition fee.

In the case of a candidate who satisfies all conditions except.

 (a) (iii) above, but have scored 60% marks in interview, his / her case will be referred to the HOD.

(b) (v) above, but have scored 75% marks in interview, his / her case will be referred to the Director. You are given the following cases as on 01-07-2014.

Depending upon the information provided in each case and based on the conditions mentioned above, give your decision. You are not to assume anything. Give answer

 1) If the candidate is to be admitted.

2) If the candidate is not to be admitted.

3) If the candidate’s case is to be referred to the Director.

 4) If the candidate’s case is to be referred to the HOD.

5) If the information provided is not adequate.

1. Hemant is a commerce graduate with 65% marks and is 22 years old. He got 60% marks in the entrance exam and 52% marks in the interview. He is able to pay ‘55000 per annum as tuition fee.

2. Jaya was born on 28 February1993 and is graduate with 78% marks. She has scored 55% marks in the interview and 63% marks in the entrance exam. She is able to pay ‘55000 per annum as tuition fee.

3. Kiranmai is 21 years old and is a science graduate. She got more than 65% marks in the entrance exam and 60% marks in interview. She can pay more than ‘55000 per annum as tuition fee.

4. Ashwin has scored 65% marks in graduation and was born on 14 May 1992. He got more than 60% marks in both entrance exams and the interview. He is unable to pay tuition fee.

5. Irfan was born on 2nd January 1990. He got 62% marks in the interview and 58% marks in the entrance exam. He is graduate with 65% marks in science. He is able to pay ‘55000 per annum as tuition fee.
